BIOGRAPHY
Colby Cyburt is one of three Managing Partners of Redwood West, alongside John Pomer and Benjamin Gott. Mr. Cyburt is responsible for leading all acquisition and financing efforts across the portfolio, as well as sourcing new investments. Additionally, Mr. Cyburt oversees the Firm’s current investments and Redwood West Property Management, Inc. Mr. Cyburt has been an integral part of growing the Redwood West portfolio, which has expanded to over $500 million in AUM today.
Prior to joining Redwood West, Mr. Cyburt was a Vice President at Ascendant Capital Partners located in Los Angeles. Mr. Cyburt joined the Firm at the time of its founding and was responsible for both underwriting and asset management of the Firm’s investments across both Fund I and Fund II vehicles, which totaled over $2 billion in AUM. Ascendant Capital Partners is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in charge of overseeing institutional, discretionary capital for the purpose of investment primarily in multifamily and hospitality real estate located in the United States.
Prior to joining Ascendant Capital Partners, Mr. Cyburt worked as an Associate at Eastdil Secured, a real estate investment banking firm headquartered in Santa Monica and New York. Mr. Cyburt was actively involved in the underwriting and investment sale processes, with closed transactions in excess of $60 billion and total sales volume comprised of over 620 million square feet of real estate. These transactions included various asset classes including industrial, office, retail, hospitality, and multifamily investment across North American and European countries. Most notably, Mr. Cyburt was actively involved in the sale of Global Logistics Properties (GLP), Gramercy Property Trust (GPT), and Colony Industrial, among a series of other large-scale industrial portfolios.
Mr. Cyburt was awarded an athletic scholarship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he received a B.A. and graduated with academic honors. Mr. Cyburt was a four-year scholar athlete on one of the highest-ranking division one collegiate football teams in the U.S.
